Chapter 27 : Statutory holidays

27.01   
The Employer recognizes the following statutory holidays and non-working days:

• The period from December 24 to January 2;
• Good Friday;
• Easter Monday;
• The Fête nationale du Québec;
• Canada Day;
• Labour Day;
• Thanksgiving;
• The Fête de l’Université or a floating holiday.

Postdoctoral fellows under contract at the time of said holidays shall be entitled to them.

If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it shall be observed on the working day preceding or following the holiday, unless the University establishes another date to make up for the holiday.

27.02   
When a postdoctoral fellow works during a holiday, she or he is entitled to an equal amount of compensatory time off to be taken when she or he chooses.
